1. Data controller
The controller of personal data processed through this website and in connection with customer enquiries is RAN Recycling Oy.
2. What personal data do we process?
The data we process depends on how you interact with us. We may process:
- your name, telephone number, email address and street address
- the content of your enquiry, request for quotation, collection request or other communication
- vehicle registration number and information about collection, location, accessibility, ownership or authorisation
- photos, videos and other attachments submitted through a form, including personal data contained in them
- customer relationship, contract, service, billing and payment information
- technical website data such as IP address, browser, device, use of the website, consent choices and cookie data
- communications and consents related to your dealings with us.
Please do not submit personal data or attachments that are not necessary for handling your matter.
3. Purposes and legal bases for processing
Enquiries, quotations and service requests
We process data to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations and plan collections and other services. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract or our legitimate interest in managing customer communications.
Providing services and performing contracts
We process data to manage orders, collections, receipt of metals, vehicle recycling, payments, billing and customer relationships. The legal basis is performance of a contract.
Legal obligations
We process necessary data to comply with obligations relating to accounting, taxation, regulatory requirements and documentation of recycling operations.
Security, development and legal claims
We may process necessary data to maintain information security, prevent misuse, improve service quality and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.
Cookies, analytics and advertising measurement
Non-essential cookies and related processing are based on your consent. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time.
We do not make automated decisions based on personal data that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
4. Where do we obtain data?
We primarily obtain data from you or a person acting on your behalf through web forms, email, telephone, visits to our premises or other communications. Where necessary, we may supplement the data using information from contractual partners, public authorities or public sources when required to provide a service or comply with the law.
5. How long do we retain data?
We retain personal data only for as long as required for its purpose or by law:
- enquiry and quotation data for the time needed to handle the matter and for a reasonable follow-up period
- contract, customer, service and collection data during the customer relationship and afterwards for as long as required to determine responsibilities or handle legal claims
- accounting records and supporting documents for the statutory retention period
- consent and cookie data as necessary to demonstrate consent and in accordance with the cookie durations shown by Cookiebot
- technical server logs for the time needed to maintain security and investigate incidents.
When there is no longer a legal basis for retention, the data is securely deleted or anonymised.
6. Recipients and processors
Personal data is processed only by RAN Recycling Oy personnel and partners who need it for their duties. We may use:
- website hosting, maintenance, security and backup providers
- form, email and customer management services
- accounting, invoicing, payment and administrative services
- transport providers and other partners involved in providing the service
- Cookiebot by Usercentrics for consent management
- Google analytics, advertising, tag management and map services.
Data may be disclosed to public authorities or other parties where required by law or necessary for a legal claim. We do not sell personal data.
7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some service providers we use, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are based on a European Commission adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. 8. Cookies and website measurement
The website uses essential cookies to function. Preference, statistics and marketing cookies are used only with your consent. The website uses Cookiebot, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Maps.
Cookiebot's current cookie declaration lists the names, providers, purposes, types and maximum durations of cookies in use. Cookies and storage methods currently detected include CookieConsent, wp_consent_functional, pll_language, test_cookie, _ga, _ga_#, _gcl_au and _gcl_ls.
You can withdraw your consent or change your choices at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.

9. How do we protect data?
We protect personal data through access controls, encrypted connections, backups, system maintenance and other appropriate technical and organisational measures. Access is restricted to people who need the data for their duties. Paper records containing personal data are kept in controlled premises.
10. Your data protection rights
Depending on the legal basis for processing, you have the right to:
- receive confirmation of whether we process your data and obtain access to it
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- request erasure of your data
- request restriction of processing
- object to processing based on legitimate interests
- receive data you provided in a machine-readable format where the right to data portability applies
- withdraw your consent at any time.
Send your request to info@ran.fi. We may request further information to verify your identity. We respond without undue delay and normally within one month.
If you believe that your personal data has been processed unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman of Finland.
11. Is providing data mandatory?
Fields marked as mandatory on our web forms are required to handle your enquiry or service request. Other information is voluntary. If necessary information is not provided, we may be unable to respond, prepare a quotation or provide the requested service.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if our processing practices, service providers or applicable law change. The current version and update date are always available on this page.
